Songs to Teach and Inspire

I’ll See You When I Get There – Melody Balk, David Walker

It was only a brief moment but in no time I could see
Before me stood a tall and strong man I thought how blessed could I be
He said welcome to the family how’d he find a gem like you
It wasn’t long ago I looked as young as you
We shared a meal I met the family and as well all gathered around
I felt a warmth and fellowship it seemed I’d never found
I knew something special about this man they all called dad
But how could I ever know it’s be our last
There’s no reason to be angry there’s no reason to be sad
That I never even got the chance to call you dad

God is loving God is kind
He found a way for me to get to know the man
Another time another place
And I’ll see you when I get there

She was only just a toddler and the light in daddy’s eye
And she had a strength about her he never questioned why
She wasn’t like the others for she had to rise above
Her world of limitations she did it all with love
He can still recall the memories how he held her in his arms
Spending every waking moment protecting her from harm
But heaven had another plan this daddy didn’t know
And as his arms embraced her they called his angel home
There’s no reason to be angry there’s no reason to be hurt
That she never got the chance to grow up in this world

Chorus

It was in a lovely garden that the enemy appeared
You will not surely die is all that they could hear
God knew we’d all fall short from the beginning of time
He sent His son to save us from the choices of mankind
Jesus said Father forgive them they don’t know they cannot see
And your love’s not really love unless they are set free
God spoke the word to nothing and the world then came to be
Even at that time He knew what the cost would be
There’s no reason to mistrust Him there’s no reason to be blue
Over losing a loved one He knows that feeling too

God is loving God is kind
He found a way for us to finally understand
Here and now and in a Heavenly place
And I’ll see you when I get there
