Songs to Teach and Inspire

by Ministry Through Melody

Tender Mercies – Melody Balk &, Dr. Richard Perry Ellis

A young man on a path filled with temptation
Where a six pack or two becomes a daily ambition
He said Dad I don’t believe that I’m gonna live that long
As he weaved across the room a twelve pack nearly gone

Tender Mercies
The Lord will bear your pain
God is merciful and makes us whole again
Who knows what He saves us from the hurt that could have been
Tender Mercies
Is why we trust in Him

He didn’t know the difference from people who are safe
To those that you can hang with who only cause you pain
So he climbed up in the car to trust the drunk behind the wheel
And when it wrapped around a tree not one pain did he feel

Tender Mercies
The Lord will bear your pain
God is merciful and makes us whole again
Who knows what He saves us from the hurt that could have been
Tender Mercies
Is why we trust in Him

A broken neck a broken back he couldn’t feel the pain
God’s merciful love spared him of suffering
With a lifetime in a wheelchair staring him in the face
He drifted off to heaven God freed him from that fate

Tender Mercies
The Lord will bear your pain
God is merciful and makes us whole again
Who knows what He saves us from the hurt that could have been
Tender Mercies
Is why we trust in Him
